Age UK's 2022 Challenge
Join the Age UK 2022 Challenge. Help us get 2.2 million bags of donations into Age UK charity shops in 2022.
The Age UK 2022 Challenge is our first year-long stock appeal and aims to help our charity shops receive a target of 2.2 million bags of donations by the end of the year.
Every bag donated to our shops helps raise vital funds that provide services and support to older people.
We also want to encourage more people to try second-hand shopping - by donating unwanted items and giving clothes a new lease of life!
How the Age UK 2022 Challenge can help you live sustainably
Falling out of love with your clothes isn’t such a big deal when you can give them a new lease of life by donating them to charity. Whatever you decide to donate, your unwanted items will help support older people in your community, and across the UK.
Here's our step by step guide to donating:
-
1 Check before you donate
Age UK shops sell a range of clothing, accessories, books, toys, household items and shoes. Feel free to contact your local shop to find out if they are in need of any particular items.
-
2 Make sure clothes are clean and dry
If there are stains, or tears or an item is missing (for example a piece missing from a game), it’s unlikely that we can sell them.
-
3 Bring in your items and support the 2022 Challenge
Every bag helps us raise more money to give an older people advice, support and friendship when it’s needed most.
-
4 Update your wardrobe
Go on - have a cheeky browse! Shopping second-hand supports Age UK's vital work and helps put a stop to fast fashion and its environmental impact.
Don't forget to Gift Aid your donations
Your donated items could be worth 25% more - at no extra cost to you - when you Gift Aid it.
