This Christmas, you can help someone like Sandra

Sandra lost her husband, Don, after 43 years together. As she adjusted to life on her own, she found the grief and loneliness overwhelming.

Thankfully, Sandra found Age UK's Telephone Friendship Service and was matched with volunteer befriender Sarena. Their weekly chats have become a source of comfort, companionship and support through difficult times.

“I don't know what I'd have done without Sarena. She kept me going in those very bad days.”

How your fundraising helps

Every penny you raise can help Age UK provide expert support and friendship to older people this winter.

  • £50 could help campaign to ensure older people's voices are heard at the heart of government.

  • £140 could help pay for a Benefits Entitlement Check, to identify additional income for an older person during the cost of living crisis.

  • £310 could help pay towards a whole year of telephone friendship calls to a lonely older person who has no one to talk to.

Join us this Christmas and raise money to help solve the crisis people don’t see

Together, we won’t let older people spend a winter alone.
