Age UK responds to CQC report on integrated care

Published on 13 July 2016 09:30 AM

Pam Creaven, Age UK's Services Director said:

'We are delighted that CQC are highlighting the importance of personalised integrated care in this new report. We know from our own pilots that health and social care services working in a joined-up way with the voluntary sector, focuses attention on the needs of individuals, transforming the lives of many older people.

'When services are coordinated and integrated people feel healthier and better about themselves in general, and this also improves wellbeing, helps keep them out of hospital and supports them to lead fuller lives. Good integrated care can radically improve the lives of many older people and thereby relieve the pressure on the NHS.'
