Response to care and support green paper announcement

Age UK response to announcement that the Government will publish a Green paper on care and support for older people in Summer 2018.
Caroline Abrahams, Charity Director at Age UK said:
'We are pleased that the Government has said today that they will definitely be publishing a Social Care Green Paper by summer 2018. It is crucial that this consultation process finally results in the improved, fair and sustainable care system that is so desperately needed. In the meantime however it is important that action is urgently taken to ease the all too obvious funding pressures that are undermining the services on offer to older people and we look to the Chancellor to recognise and address the growing crisis in care in his Budget next week.'
