Why do we value old objects over older people? Age UK is here to change how we age. Make change happen
Here's how, with your support, Age UK is supporting older people through the cost of living crisis.
Peggy's story reflects the loneliness experienced by many older people in our communities
Age UK has teamed up with ITV and Coronation Street to tell Peggy's story, which symbolises the real-life experiences of 1.2 million older people across the UK who often feel lonely. Age UK is determined to be there to provide support.
In Peggy's story, Peggy shares life's special moments with her sister Sandra while watching Coronation Street together throughout the decades. But when Sandra dies, Peggy finds herself feeling alone and isolated.
The chances are there is someone like Peggy in your community. Perhaps it's a neighbour who recently lost their own special loved one and now spends their days with only a television for company.
But lonely and isolated older people shouldn't have to feel the world has forgotten them. That's why Age UK is determined to be there for the older people who need us most, at Christmas and all year round.
If you or someone you know needs support, Age UK is here for you. Call the Age UK Advice Line on 0800 169 6565, 8am to 7pm, every day of the year, or use the links below to find out more about how we could help.
