Intergenerational friends
Different generations coming together to help one another is a lovely idea, isn't it? That's why Age UK Portsmouth hosts Boogie Mites, intergenerational music and movement classes that help the older people who attend the Bradbury Centre and their very young visitors alike. We paid one of the sessions a visit to join in the fun.
“The interaction with the music really helps to stimulate the children,” Carol Elliott, Business Development Manager at Age UK Portsmouth, says of the younger members of the Boogie Mites sessions.
And there's plenty to keep their older counterparts entertained, too. "We also do exercises in the chairs for [older] people, and they have a thoroughly good time all joining in together," explains Carol. "It’s a real benefit for everybody.”
You can see those benefits in action by watching the video above.

The group meets at 12.30pm on the first Thursday of every month at the Bradbury Centre in Kingston Road, Portsmouth.
