Dancing with a star (video)

As you’ve no doubt heard, Len Goodman has become one of our celebrity ambassadors. ‘The work Age UK does is so important to so many older people and I am honoured to be a part of that,’ he said of the role when it was announced recently.

To celebrate the news, the dapper gent, best known for being a head judge on Strictly Come Dancing, visited a dance class at Age UK Lewisham & Southwark. There he received a warm welcome from the regulars and wasted no time in showcasing his moves, which you can see in the video below. 'I've been in there, dancing and prancing, like I was a 24-year-old instead of a 74-year-old,' he tells us.

In our chat with Len he discusses the importance of classes like this for keeping fit and combatting loneliness. ‘The most difficult step in dance is the first step into the room,' he says. 'And once you overcome that, it's great!'

So what score did the man himself give our dancers on the day? You’ll have to watch the video above to find out…
