Statement from the Charity Age UK about the Age Co Equity Release Advice Service. 

Age UK takes its commitment to older people very seriously. We are dedicated to our work and to the many people who benefit from it every year. The commercial partners of our trading subsidiary, Age UK Enterprises, which trades under the brand ‘Age Co’, are subjected to regular and rigorous appraisal. This includes the relationship with HUB Financial Solutions, which provides the Age Co Equity Release Advice Service. 

We have been shown no evidence to support any claim of impropriety by the Age Co Equity Release Advisory Service. If anyone has any such evidence we very much wish to know about it and we would also urge them to share it with the Financial Conduct Authority without delay.

We have withdrawn one of Age UK’s information guides because it contained a reference to Age UK and not Age UK Enterprises providing access to the Age Co Equity Release Advice Service. This was in breach of our copy guidelines and we believe was due to human error. The mistake has been corrected and the guide is available on Age UK’s website.
