The updated route of the Leeds Abbey Dash was re-assessed after the event and found to be 23 metres short of its 10k distance, and therefore finishing times for the 2019 race will not be recognised by UK Athletics. We are extremely sorry that this has happened and apologise for any disappointment this may have caused participants.
"The event is managed and organised with a trusted team which makes every effort to ensure that everyone has a safe and fun day. The route will be re-licensed for 2020 and in the meantime we are so grateful for everyone who took part and raised vital funds to help improve the lives of older people in Leeds and the rest of the country," says Lydia Curran, Head of Events at Age UK.

By participating in the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash 2019, you've helping to improve the lives of people like Barbara.
Anxiety and panic attacks led to Barbara becoming isolated, and severely affected her health and wellbeing.
“I struggled with talking to people, answering the door, going out – everything,” she says.
Her doctor suggested she contact Age UK Leeds about their befriending services. They arranged regular home visits from Phoebe, one of their befriending volunteers.
“Phoebe’s visits make me feel better," says Barbara. "I didn’t realise how much I missed talking to people. We look through old photos together and go for walks. I didn’t think I’d ever enjoy things again, but I have.”
“I’m so grateful for what Age UK Leeds have done.”
This was one of the best large 10K events I’ve had the pleasure of doing. Such a lovely atmosphere throughout the race.
