Age UK and innocent smoothies have teamed up with Madame Tussaud's London to celebrate the biggest Big Knit ever.

  • Famous faces from the waxwork collection at Madame Tussaud's have joined our knitting club in support of the 2016-17 Big Knit
  • This year Age UK and innocent are aiming for a huge two million hats for the campaign
  • There is still time to send in hats to your local Age UK, who will receive a proportion of the money raised to support older people in the community.

Some of the most recognised wax figures at Madame Tussaud's in London have joined in with our knitting club to mark another amazing Big Knit.

Alongside our knitters were Age UK ambassador Dame Helen Mirren and British YouTube sensations Zoella and Alfie Deyes.

Big Knit aiming to smash huge target

The Big Knit asks people to knit or crochet tiny hats and submit them to their local Age UK. The hats are then used to decorate innocent smoothie bottles which are sold in supermarkets around the country, with 25p per purchase going to support Age UK's vital work.

Dame Helen Mirren with Age UK knitters"We're honoured to have the support of Madame Tussauds London - it's great to have such popular wax figures involved in the Big Knit. We have had such great support for the Big Knit over the years, we are positive knitters across the country will take the challenge to make this year's event the biggest ever." - Sim Viney at innocent drinks

This year our target is an epic two million wooly hats and we need your help to reach this! The deadline for submitting your hats to us is 31 July.
