At the end of 2019, Sky selected Age UK as one of their charity partners for their ‘Sky Cares’ programme which aims to support the communities in which Sky’s customers and employees live and work.

Age UK and Sky came together through a shared concern about the growing issue of loneliness.

Sky serves over 1 million older customers, so colleagues frequently see first-hand how devastating loneliness and isolation in later life can be.

That’s why Sky launched ‘Time to Care’, in partnership with Age UK, to help tackle loneliness across the country.

Through this campaign, Sky is harnessing the passion of Sky’s 15,000 customer service group colleagues, made up of contact centre staff, retail staff and engineers, by offering them dedicated time each week to volunteer and get in touch with older people including volunteering at a local Age UK.

Alongside this, Sky provided vital support to our network of local Age UKs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To date, Sky engineers have delivered 350,000 items to older people across the country including essentials like PPE, meals, care packages, activity packs and gifts. They are also donating annual grants to local Age UK’s based in communities nearby Sky’s offices, helping towards the cost of crucial on-the-ground services for older people across the UK.
