Picture Safari Fundraiser June 2018

Published on 29 June 2018 03:23 PM

The Picture Safari fundraiser went ahead yesterday and once again was a great success, which is why the Health & Wellbeing Team decided to run it as a fundraiser.

This time we chose to invade my home town of Wordsley (I tried to pre-warn as many of the residents as I could).

Despite the heat, we had a good turnout. Once we had made sure all who attended had plenty of water and had applied sun cream, we were off.

As always, I had made it a little different to previous ones by adding challenges along the way. We did decide to cut the walk short, rerouting and missing out a section due to the high temperatures, feeling it was best to head back to the local pub for a well-earned cold drink and rest. We also ran a raffle with two top prizes of a food and drinks hamper and a meal for two voucher donated by the pub.

The scores were tallied up and challenges adjudicated to reveal one team as an outright winner … very thrilled they were.

Over all we raised £241 .

Thank you to all that helped, donated and came along to enjoy the event, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
