As an Information & Advice volunteer you could provide support and make a real difference to older people in Mid Devon
What do Information & Advice volunteers do?
Our I&A volunteers assist clients in applying for Attendance Allowance. As the application process is quite time consuming and can seem quite daunting, this is both a huge relief to clients and an excellent way to support our service.
What you will get out of it
- Volunteers help clients obtain financial support, making a very real difference to their day-to-day lives
- Help people who are vulnerable to retain their independence
- Work with and be supported by a strong team of volunteers and professionals
- Volunteering improves your mental wellbeing and can reduce stress and anxiety
What is expected of me?
Volunteers will need to be able to give three hours a week or more, plus time for training.
Information & Advice volunteers will be given full training and support, including shadowing and supervision.
There is an informal interview process, and we will ask for references and a DBS check. An induction session will follow.
