An enabling service
Community Connections is an enabling service that supports you to remain independent in your own home and encourages you to feel part of your community.
Our aim is to work with you to identify simple, practical ways to stay engaged with life in the local community, and to equip you to cope with the changes you are facing in your day-to-day life.
By supporting you in building up your self-confidence, we can work with you to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Reducing isolation and loneliness
- identifying where a life change has presented challenges
- providing a volunteer to explore new opportunities
- building self-confidence
- pursuing interests and activities in the local community
- maintaining and improving mental wellbeing
Through initial conversations, we successfully match you to one of our friendly volunteers who, for a period of six months, will support and encourage you to achieve your goals.
If you have some spare time and think you would enjoy working with us to improve the lives of older people in our community, you can find out more about volunteering here.
