The Belsay Day service offers support Monday to Friday to dependent older people who are still able to live in their own homes but who have very significant health, mobility and communication problems. This may include people with respiratory problems, arthritic conditions, Stroke and Parkinson’s disease.
Based at the Campus for Ageing and Vitality Westgate Road, the service is co-located with the Belsay Day Unit and can accommodate a maximum of 10 people per day.
The service aims to enable older people to continue to live at home and crucially to provide carer respite; the service is often offered as a step down from NHS Day Hospital Services.
