woman and girl cookingOur Friendship Support Scheme is a free service that helps combat isolation for older people across the borough.

The Scheme's main aim is to help isolated older people in any setting, not just within the community, become more socially active and receive support to access local community activities. The individual will be visited in their own home by one of our vetted and trained volunteers.  The volunteer will not only provide social interaction wihin the home, but will also support people to get out and abou in the local communityt or re-engage in previous interests that may have gone by the way-side.

This service also offers a free telephone support service if an individual does not want to be visited in their home but would benefit from a friendly chat on a regular basis.
